GM couldn’t resist the race down the toilet drain of mediocre cars. Not to be outdone by their Detroit rivals they came up with this bastard parts-bin child of Frankestein - the Chevette. Diesel even for a few Oppo points ... please save me from myself!

The Chevette was better than the Pinto or Vega, for what little that is worth.

If they give it to you and pay the registration fees, you might have something.

At least that little crapbox gave us this:
I’ve always wanted to build up ‘Vette with a V6. I guess that was a popular conversion back in the day.
Heck, even GM did it:

I like Chevettes. Tough little cars. At one point in the ‘90s, my paternal grandmother had two. A tan daily driver and a black parts car.

Yes, that is a Chevette with a 427 Big Block. Thank you for asking.

I like the look of the V6!

Interesting, yes. Good? No. I love the look, especially in black and gold. My grandfather wanted one to replace his orange Vega wagon, but by the time it actually made it to production it was neutered.
Thankfully he bought a pea green 914 instead, a car I remember fondly.
Only in the ‘70s could they get away with those colors.

Cripes, call Doc Brown and have him send it back when it belongs.

“I drive a ‘vette.”
“You drive a CHEVette!”
“Like I said”

Which is like saying, of the piles of shit, the shit that was the Chevette stunk less than the piles of shit that were the Pinto/Vega.
